Dr. Rafael Arenas is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. He is an exceptional aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon and has his practice in Guadalajara and Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico

Dr. Arenas graduated medical school receiving high honors from the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla where he also completed his internship.

In Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico he completed his training in general surgery at one of the largest and internationally well recognized hospitals in Mexico, Hospital de Especialidades del Centro Médico Nacional de Occidente del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social.

Dr. Rafael Arenas completed his specialty of Plastic Surgery at the same medical center where he was the chief resident of the department. Not only did Dr. Arenas get exceptional training with world renowned plastic surgeons in Mexico he also had the opportunity to work in Marin County, just outside of San Francisco, California for part of his plastic surgery training.  He completed a fellowship with a world-renowned plastic surgeon specializing in facial rejuvenation and body contouring surgery.

Dr. Arenas has published research articles on a variety of plastic surgery topics nationally and internationally.  He has won awards from the Mexican Plastic Surgery Association based on his research of growth factor applications in cosmetic surgery. 

Dr. Arenas is not only certified by the Mexican Plastic Surgery Board he is also an active member of the Mexican Plastic Surgery Association, The Latin American Plastic Surgery Federation, and the Western Mexican Plastic Surgery Society.
